Places of Note

The main plot of the campaign revolved around the encounters taking place in the great Houston-area. Although other cities, towns, and countries might be mentioned, there were beyond the scope of the campaign, and considered non-essential to moving the plot along. A map was created to give the players a visual aspect of where different adventures occurred. The characters had easy access to the major points on the map when using standard transportation, but over avenues of movement might be available depending on their abilities. All of the party members have lived here for many years, and have a basic familiarity to the area.

Houston, Texas

Club Psilence

Club Psilence is a hidden meta-human club in Midtown owned by Marcus Vaughn.

Decibel Deathmetal Club

The Decibel Deathmetal Club is a Second Ward dive which has become a primary outpost for Houston's most extreme headbangers.

Galveston

Galveston is a coastal resort city and port off the southeast coast on Galveston Island and Pelican Island in the U.S. state of Texas. Halloween's base of operations was found out by the vigilantes and his group was defeated.

Houston

Houston is a large metropolis in Texas, extending to Galveston Bay, and is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Texas, fourth most populous city in the United States, most populous city in the Southern United States, as well as the sixth most populous in North America.

A+ Used Cars

A+ Used Cars is an abandoned car lot on the outskirts of Clear Lake. It was used a nesting area for several of the "killer monkeys". Whitney Morris inadvertently invaded their domicile and was killed, when looking to hide from Antonio Gusinarto, as she fled from the Espinoza estate.

George R. Brown Convention Center

The GRB is Houston's premier hosting facility for public and corporate events. It is conveniently located downtown on Fannin Street between Lamar Avenue and Dallas Street.

Club Psilence

Club Psilence is located at Main St. and Preston in downtown Houston. Club Psilence was founded Marcus Vaughn as a haven for those individuals "with like abilities and talents". Clientele range from minor psionics to (supposedly) extra-dimensional entities. The venue accepts normals humans (guests), which are readily identified by the club wrist bands they are asked to wear.

Escalante's

Escalante's is a Mexican restaurant located in Sugar Land's Town Square shopping center. This location is the starting point of the campaign as most of the PCs were left cryptic messages to gather one evening. Whisper is in attendance, and notified the PCs of the threat posed by Halloween.

ESWAT Headquarters

The international headquarters of ESWAT (Elite Strategic Weaponry for Advanced Technologies) is located in northwest Houston, as the former Compaq business park on Hwy. 290 and Spring Cypress Road. ESWAT hosts an annual show in September at the George R. Brown convention center.

Gearman Automotive, Engineering & Fabrication

Gearman Automotive, Engineering & Fabrication is located just immediately north of old town Spring. The facility is owned and operated by Brian Gearman as a repair shop for exotic vehicles. The site also houses a state-of-the-art exoskeleton production facility, as well as living quarters for Gearman. Sebastian Cord is considered in charge when Gearman is away.

Houston Museum of Natural History

Not to be confused with the Museum of Natural Science, the newly opened Houston Museum of Natural History is located at 5800 Main Street near Rice University. The museum was the home for the Brazilian creature known as Besto do Lagarto, hidden inside a museum statue during the day. The opening gala hosted by the city mayor also came under scrutiny when Halloween attempted to stage his own event, but was undone by the player characters.

Lambs Confections

Formerly Lammes Candy out of Austin, this Texas-based company has branches in Sugar Land, the Woodlands, and Galveston Island. The Galveston branch is located near one of Halloween's former safe houses.

Mercury Room

The Mercury Room is located at Main Street and Prairie Street in downtown Houston. It is one of Houston's most popular lounges for live bands and dance music. Cassie Fandango is first encountered here with Onyx under her sway.

Metis Tower

Metis Tower is located in the 2700 block on Kirby, near Greenway Plaza. The newly constructed building is the North American headquarters for G.A.I.A., which occupies the top seven floors. Floors two through ten are used by various software design companies, with the ground floor being the lobby. G.A.I.A. agents are privy to a private elevator accessing the 2nd sub-basement parking garage.

Rice University

Rice University is a private research university, located near the Museum District and the Texas Medical Center. Students of note are Tammy Beernet, Wilbur Flannigan, Floyd Foster, Whitney Morris, and Clarissa Ortega. John Smith is a former teacher.

Spicy Pickle

The Spicy Pickle is located at Kirkwood and Interstate-10. It is the first Houston location of the national restaurant franchise, specializing in salads and sandwiches. Chris Cage and Zoe Cicone use this location as a meeting point other than the Waffle House.

Waffle House

The Waffle House is located at 11208 West Airport Road at Highway 59 in Stafford. As with all Waffle House's nationwide, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is open 24-Hours. This location has been used multiple times as a contact point for Onyx, and as a general meeting for the party.

Locations outside of Houston

The Tar Pits

The Tar Pits is the codename for G.A.I.A. meta-human detention center located in McKittrick, California. Currently, the facility is a two-story building, with its own federal courtroom, and a 4-level underground complex used to hold those individuals too dangerous to be exposed to the general populace.

Project Prometheus

Project Prometheus is located Dione, KY. It is a 12000-acre U.S. military training complex, for super-soldier development. It's real purpose is hidden from the local populace.
